Single-cell PCB limitations

How much current load can a single cell 1S1P PCB/PCM allow?

We do not use the same PCB for all orders. However many customers need more information on the limitations of a single cell PCB. We have chosen one model below with a relatively high discharge current to use as an example:

  • Peak current 6 A

  • Max. continuous discharge current: 3.5-4 A

  • Overcharge voltage: 4.2 V

  • Over-discharge voltage 2.75 V

  • Temperature Range −40°C ~ +50°C

Other Features:

  1. Built-in high-precision voltage detection circuit

  2. High withstand voltage devices are used for the terminals connected to charger

  3. Built-in three-stage over-current detection circuit

  4. The charge and discharge of the battery can be controlled through the MOS tube

  5. Low current consumption.

Since reliability is a foremost concern we normally do not exceed 12A peak current for such a PCB, and recommend customers that lower is better. For higher currents we can open a custom mould.
