Our most common payment terms are 100% Advance. However during cross-border wire transfers the amount you expect us to receive may not be realized because of intermediary bank fees.
If this happens we may contact you after receiving payment with a link to pay the remaining fees by debit or credit card.
SWIFT
When making the electronic transfer on the SWIFT network, the payer should use OUR ("Send bears transaction fee") expense regulation rather than SHA or BEN if applicable to ensure the total amount on the invoice is paid in full by the payer.
Intermediary Banks
These banks facilitate cross-border payments by routing money to various banking hubs until it reaches its final destination. Each hop may take a corresponding fee, often between $10 and $20. The amount of hops are determined by the payer's location and bank.
How a Payer can Trace a payment
Unfortunately banks make this process non-transparent. The payer in this case may ask their bank to run a 'Trace' on the wire, which will provide a breakdown of hops and fees taken by intermediary banks. The receiver does not have the ability to run a Trace on the wire.
What to do if the amount you expected us to receive is different from what we received?
Rest assured it happens a lot and we understand banks often do not make cross-border fees transparent. If the amount we received is different than the amount which was on the Pro Forma Invoice then a Sales Representative will work with you to settle the difference.
Since the amount due is always low (under $50 typically) we will issue an online link where you can quickly pay by debit or credit card. Under some circumstances we may not release goods to be shipped until the amount is settled.
How do you calculate the difference?
We expect to receive the full amount on the invoice. We will take the total on the invoice with the difference of the payment we received. Note: For receiving cross-border payments we have a fixed incoming banking fee which is already applied on the invoice. It is charged separately to our account from the payment received.
