UTMs and How to Customize Them

LiveRecover automatically adds default UTM parameters to all message links to help you track attribution in tools like Google Analytics or Meta Ads.

You can customize the default values or add new parameters from settings to match your brandโ€™s tracking setup.

๐Ÿ’ก UTM parameters help you understand where traffic is coming from and how users engage after clicking your links.

Customize Global UTM Parameters

Default values for utm_source and utm_medium are already pre-filled in your account. These apply globally across all flows.

You can edit these defaults or add new parameters.

To customize your UTM setup:

  • Edit the existing values (e.g. change utm_source from liverecover to sms_recovery)

  • Click Add UTM Parameter to add more keys, such as:

    • utm_campaign = abandoned_checkout

๐Ÿ’ก If a product link already has UTMs in it, LiveRecover will not override those values.

Example Setup

  • utm_source = liverecover

  • utm_medium = sms

  • utm_campaign = abandoned_checkout

These parameters will automatically be added to all outgoing message links unless UTMs are already present in the URL.
