We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should any breakages or major spills happen please let your host know as soon as possible.

  • If it is minor a host usually won't charge you. Minor things are those that your host considers normal wear and tear, i.e. the cost of doing business. This is up to each individual host to decide.

  • For spills (especially red wine on carpet), the key is to tell your host as quickly as possible so they have a chance to remove it before it becomes permanent. Most hosts are prepared, with special cleaning equipment and experience, to deal with spills and stains, so the sooner you let them know the better.

  • If it is a larger issue (e.g. a broken window or TV screen) your host will want to agree the cost with you before you leave. Your host may be able to claim insurance for the damage, which means you would only need to pay the excess, so get in front of the issue and let your host know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your honesty!
