Gift Cards
Gift cards are always specific to an organizer. An organizer can create one or more gift cards, and all gift cards belonging to the same organizer are displayed in the same gift card store.
You can create a gift card under Tools ➣ Gift Card.
General Settings
Before creating a gift card, configure the organizer’s general settings:
Code prefix – the gift card code is a long series of numbers. If you want an identifier, such as an abbreviation of the organizer’s or event’s name, to appear at the beginning of the code, you can define it here.
Validity period – select whether the gift card is valid for six months or one year.
Save the settings.
Creating a Gift Card
Name – the name of the gift card, translated into three languages.
Description (optional) – the description is displayed on the gift card. At a minimum, the description must explain in more detail what the gift card can be used for. The following information must also be included in the text. You may use the text below as is:
The gift card can only be used as a payment method for purchasing products and services specified by the Seller who issued the gift card in the Liveto online store. The gift card can be used in full in a single transaction or across multiple transactions. If the gift card balance exceeds the total amount of the order, the remaining balance can be used as a payment method for a future order. If the gift card balance is less than the total amount of the order, the remaining amount can be paid using another available payment method. The gift card must be used within its validity period. Any unused balance remaining after the gift card has expired will not be refunded. The gift card cannot be exchanged for cash.
Predefined amounts – by default, the available gift card amounts are €25, €50, and €100. You can remove the default amounts and create your own amounts instead.
Click Create Gift Card.
You can create multiple gift cards, but all gift cards can be used as a payment method for the same events. All gift cards are also displayed during the purchasing process. We recommend creating a single gift card with several different amount options.
Issued Cards
In the gift card settings, you will find the Issued Cards tab, where you can view all sold gift cards, including information on how much of the gift card value has been used and how much has expired. You can also search for individual gift cards.
For each gift card, you can view:
original balance
current balance
issue date
expiration date
order
Under additional details, you can see whether the gift card has been used for specific orders.
Confirmation Messages
You can edit the confirmation message in the gift card settings. We recommend creating a dedicated confirmation message for gift cards. Otherwise, the confirmation message works in the same way as other Liveto confirmation messages.

Gift Card Fund Flow
Funds from gift cards are handled differently from funds from regular products.
When a customer purchases a gift card, the funds are first transferred to Liveto. At the time of purchase, only the processing fee and any payment-method-specific additional fees are charged.
When the gift card is used to pay for an order, the funds are transferred to the event organizer. At this stage, the service fee and other applicable fees are deducted.
Used gift cards are shown in event reports under the payment method Gift Card.
Liveto automatically transfers gift card funds to the organizer in connection with events.
Gift cards that expire without being used are considered surplus. The unused funds remain with Liveto and are shown in the monthly gift card report together with gift card purchases and usage.
Enabling Gift Cards as a Payment Method
For customers to be able to pay for an order using a gift card, the gift card payment method must be enabled for the event. Add the payment method in the event settings under Payment Methods ➣ Gift Card.
Selling Gift Cards
Gift cards can be sold:

in the Event Store
in Event Store 2.0
Gift card sales are not tied to an individual event. Instead, gift cards operate as a separate entity with their own settings, where customers can purchase gift cards.
If you want gift card sales to also appear in connection with another event, go to the settings of the relevant event, select Event Page, and enable Show Gift Cards. Gift card sales will then also be displayed on that event page.
For the Event Store, you can also add gift cards to the store.
Purchase Process
The gift card purchase process works in the same way as purchasing other products, and gift cards can be purchased using the configured payment methods. After purchasing a gift card, the customer receives a gift-card-style PDF instead of a PDF ticket. The PDF contains:

A gift card can also be used as partial payment. For example, a €100 product can be paid for partly with a €50 gift card, with the remaining amount paid using another payment method, such as Paytrail.
