Before you begin

Make sure the following are in place before you start:

  • You'll need to be a Professional or Enterprise subscriber in order to use Zapier with LMN. The Starter plan does not include Zapier access. If you're on Starter, see the details in Your LMN Subscription to upgrade.

  • Your user account must have Security Admin permissions turned on, or the Integrations page will not appear in your settings.

  • You'll need an active Zapier account.

Get your LMN Credentials

You'll need your API Key and API Username to connect Zapier to LMN.

  1. In LMN, go to Settings, then open the Integrations page.

  2. Locate your API Key and API Username.

  3. Keep these credentials handy, as you'll enter them into Zapier when connecting your LMN account.

Build the Zap, Part 1: The Trigger

The trigger is the event that starts your Zap, which in this case is a new submission on your website's intake form.

  1. In Zapier, create a new Zap.

  2. Select your form software as the trigger app (for example, Google Forms).

  3. Choose the event that fires when a new form response is submitted.

  4. Connect your form account and follow the prompts to authorize it.

  5. Test the trigger to confirm Zapier can pull in a sample form submission.

Build the Zap, Part 2: The Action

The action is what happens when the trigger fires. Here, you'll create a new contact in your LMN CRM.

  1. Select LMN as the action app.

  2. Choose the Create Contact action.

  3. Connect your LMN account by entering the API Key and API Username you copied earlier.

  4. Map the fields from your form submission to the matching LMN contact fields, such as name, email, and phone.

  5. Test the action to confirm a contact is created in your LMN CRM.

Avoiding Duplicate Contacts

The Create Contact action does not check for existing records, so submitting the same lead more than once can create duplicate contacts in your CRM. To reduce duplicates, consider adding a Find Contact step before Create Contact so Zapier can check whether the lead already exists.

Publish & Validate

  1. Review each step of your Zap to confirm the trigger, action, and field mapping are correct.

  2. Turn the Zap on to make it live.

  3. Submit a test entry through your website's intake form and confirm the new lead appears in your LMN CRM.

Troubleshooting

If you don't see the Integrations page:

  • Confirm you're on a Professional or Enterprise subscription, since Starter does not include Zapier access.

  • If you're on an eligible plan and still don't see it, check that your account has Security Admin permissions turned on.
