Job Tracking

There are many reports that will show you exactly what's happened (or is happening) on a job, but some are faster than others.

The easiest on-screen report is the Live Tracking screen. If you got a call from a customer who was looking to check in on whether you'd been at their property yet, you could give them accurate information in about 10 seconds or less.

  1. Click Settings > Timeheets menu in LMN on the left-hand menu

  2. Click Job Tracking

  3. By default you will see the Live Map screen, which you can use the filter to view by Job Group. To the right of the screen you can set the intervals you would like to view.

  4. Click the Job Tracking > Job History tab to view a list version.

  5. Either search for a specific job, or use the GROUP dropdown to pick an entire job-group or route. LMN will display a screen of all the jobs and tasks that meet that criteria

  6. Click on the job for complete details

Job Tracking: Live Map & Job History

Live Map

Colors on the Live Map have been updated to signify potential necessity for visit (ie. sites which have not been visited in over 24 hours will be indicated as red).

The icons on the map will also indicate which category the job falls into:

  • Green = someone is clocked into the job currently

  • 6 = less than 6 hours since last visit

  • 12 = less than 12 hours since last visit

  • 24 = less than 24 hours since last visit

  • >24 = more than 24 hours since last visit

To set your preferred intervals, click the Set Intervals button at the top-right of the page

Job History

You can also see a list view of your jobs in relation to the live map with set intervals.

Under Job Tracking tab > Click Job History button for a list view

Crew Tracking

Similar to the Job Tracking, you will also be able to track where your crews have last punched into a job by map view and list view.

  1. Navigate to Live Tracking > Crew Tracking

  2. You can filter by Staff Group and see where they are Punched-in at job, Punched-in away from job and if the Crew location is not available.

  3. To view by list, click on the Where Are They? button

  4. This screen will allow you to filter by Staff Group

  5. If your crew has location services turned on while punching in, you will be able to click on the map button to view the jobsite location and the crew location at the time they punched in and the distance from site when they punched in.

How To Enable Crew Tracking in the LMN Crew App

  2. On the Staff members row look at the far right of the screen and click the pencil icon

  3. Then select Time Tracking & Payroll

  4. Under Payroll Settings Check off "Can Track Employees" this will enable the tracking icon on the Crew Mobile App

  5. After completing the above steps, your Crew Lead will be able to track employees in the LMN Crew Mobile App.

Troubleshooting: Grey Pins & "Location Not Available"

If a crew member's pin appears grey on Crew Tracking, it means LMN did not receive a GPS location from that person's device at their last punch in or punch out.

A few important things to keep in mind:

  • Crew Tracking is not continuous, real-time tracking. It only captures a GPS snapshot at the moment of punch-in and punch-out — not a live feed or breadcrumb trail of movement throughout the day.

  • A grey pin almost always comes down to location permissions on the device, not a problem with your LMN account.

To resolve a grey pin, have the crew member check the following on their phone. The exact menu names below can vary slightly depending on phone model and OS version — treat these as the general path rather than an exact match on every device.

On Android:

  1. Open Settings > Apps > LMN Crew > Permissions > Location (on some devices this may appear as App info > Permissions, depending on the phone manufacturer)

  2. Set location access to Allow while using app

  3. Also make sure Precise Location is turned on — if this is off, the pin can stay grey even when Location is otherwise enabled

On iPhone (iOS):

  1. Open Settings > LMN Crew > Location

  2. Set it to While Using the App (or Always)

  3. On the same screen, make sure Precise Location is toggled on

Then, on either device:

  1. Force close and reopen the LMN Crew app

  2. Punch out of the current job, then punch back in

  3. Refresh Crew Tracking on the web to confirm the pin updates

If the pin still shows grey after completing these steps, contact our Support Team so we can look into it further.
