This article will cover how to create split loads on LoadStop. Users are often required to create split load(s) in the system, depending on their mode of operation. In LoadStop, users can create a split load in 3 different ways:

Method #1

This method allows the user to add a local split while creating a load. While entering stops information, the user can enter their terminal/yard where they want the load to split and hit save.

Once saved, the local split will be added in the stops information and the user can proceed from there.

Note: users should ensure that the yard location exists in their Locations page, and ensure the toggle for “Local Terminal” is enabled. This is explained in the following image:

Once a location is marked as a local terminal, it will populate in the dropdown menu while creating the split.

First, navigate to Dispatch>Loads, and click on “Create new load” button to begin creating your new load.

While entering the stops information, the user can scroll down to the bottom and add the yard location for the split and hit save. This will create a split load.

Once a split load has been created, the user needs to select separate dispatch information by clicking on the “Select Dispatch” button.

Method #2

The second method allows users to add in a split to an already existing load. Therefore, open an already existing load to begin. Towards the right, in the stops information section, the user can click on the “Split” button and then enter the split location details and hit save.

Then, the user can add in the split details and hit save. This will add the split to the existing load.

Method #3

• This method is primarily to create a local spilt in an existing load

• The user can use this option to create a split at their terminal/yard

• They need to open the load and towards the right side in the stops information section, they can click on the button for “Drop at Yard”

NOTE: as mentioned before, the user should ensure that the yard location exists in their CRM and the toggle for “local terminal” is enabled. They need to enter the split details and choose between a “trailer drop” or a “load drop” and then hit save. Once done, the local split will be added to the load.

They need to enter the split details and choose between a “trailer drop” or a “load drop” and then hit save. Once done, the local split will be added to the load.

Trailer Drop: the trailer will be automatically fetched from the first split and will be added in the dispatch information for the next split. So once the user tries to dispatch the second leg, the trailer will be filled in already.

Load Drop: the system asks for a trailer number for the next split. Which means that the dropped load is going be carried in this trailer for the next split. So when user is dispatching the second leg, the trailer that the user entered will be selected automatically.
