Introduction

Once your load is created and all the essential information is added, your next step is to dispatch the load. This article has all the information that you need to dispatch but for a more in depth review of load creation we have a different article that you can read here.

Navigation

To dispatch a load, go to the Dispatch header at the top of the LoadStop page and click on sub-header Loads. This is the main loads page that you can use to create and dispatch loads.

Dispatching a Load

  1. Open the Load

As soon as your load is created and saved, a pop up page of the load would appear. On the same page, you have your dispatch info. Even if the pop up doesn’t appear you can always edit the load details by clicking on the “Actions” button, or you can simply click on the load number to edit.

2. Click on Dispatch Load

In order to dispatch the load, click on “Dispatch Load” as shown in the screenshot below.

3. Fill Dispatch Fields

When you click on “Dispatch Load”, the details relating to dispatch would pop up requiring you to select a carrier, driver, vehicle and trailer etc. At the bottom of the dispatch information page, you would be able to see the driver’s last location including the high empty miles as well. This information comes in once you have your ELD integration in place or through the mobile app of the driver.

Once all the details have been added, hit “Save” at the bottom right of the screen to save the dispatch information.

4. Settlements Tab

LoadStop provides the option to enter a new driver rate card for a particular load in the dispatch information popup. The new rate that’s added for the driver would override their individual rate card set up in their profile. Otherwise, this option can be skipped if you want to continue to use the rate card under the driver profile.

In the same way, we can also set up rate cards for carrier settlements. The new rate that’s added for the carrier would override their individual rate card set up in their profile. Otherwise, this option can be skipped if you want to continue to use the rate card under the carrier profile

Deleting Dispatch Information

The red icon on the right side of the Stops Info column is to delete the dispatch information of that particular load.

Note: You need to delete the dispatch information before you can delete a load.

Editing Dispatch Information

The first blue icon opposite the dispatch information will let you edit the dispatch details and you can always come back to make changes if need be.

Sending Load Information to Drivers

The second blue chat icon opposite the dispatch information is to send load details to the assigned driver. Once the load details have been sent, the system considers the dispatch complete.

There are four ways to send load details to the driver:

  1. A “Send to Driver” button will deliver the load information to the driver’s LoadStop app. Furthermore, a driver can accept or reject the load through the app as well. If a driver doesn’t have the LoadStop app, they will receive a text message with a link to download it through their app store.

  2. The second way to send load information to a driver is through SMS. This is useful if your driver is traveling to remote areas.

  3. The load can also be sent to a non-driver number through “SMS Load info”. Through this option, you can send the load information to anyone.

4. Finally, click on the message icon right next to a driver’s name on the main screen.

When a dropdown menu appears, click on “Send to Driver”. The load information

will now be sent to the driver. As soon as the load information is sent, the driver’s

name will turn yellow; upon approval by the driver, it will turn green.
