Introduction

Settlement Types are created to specify the load accessorial such as additional payments or deductions in settlements. This article has all the information required to create settlement types but for more information regarding Settlements or other modules visit our Help Center.

Navigation

To create Settlement Types, go to the Main Menu, select Setup and then Settlement Types. This is the main page where you can create new settlement types and view the existing ones.

Filters

In this module, there are filters available to find a particular Settlement Type. You can either search by “Name” or “Settlement Category”. The Settlement Categories are there by default such as deductions, hourly pay or salary. The generic search bar filter is also available.

Creating Settlement Types

In order to create a new settlement type, we can click on the “create new settlement type” button in the top right corner which will open a new window.

Then you can add the details such as a name for it and then select the settlement category you want to add this particular settlement type to.

If you select it as “Additional Pay” it will give you the reimbursement toggle to list this particular settlement type as a reimbursement in settlements. Once this toggle is enabled it will provide you with an option to add the payroll code.

However, if you select the settlement category as “Deductions” then it will give you an “Is for Fuel Import” toggle for Settlement Types that will be used for fuel imports only.

You can also add the “Paylocity DETCODE” here. Once all the information is added, make sure to click save.

Managing Settlement Types

In order to edit the settlement types you can go to Actions and select the option for edit. There is also an option to view history for each particular settlement type. You can delete the settlement types that you created but you cannot edit or delete the settlement types available by default.
