What are field types and validation rules?
Each page in Loanapp has data fields which guide your application information in preparation for submission.
Lenders apply business logic on these data fields so that they are mandatory, optional, or visible 'on condition'.
Loanapp displays lender-set validation rules in two ways:
1. Field Highlights - This article outlines Field Highlights.
2. Error Messages - See this Knowledge Base article for more information on Error Messages.
Mandatory Fields
Mandatory fields are those which the Lender have specified MUST be completed.
You will not be able to submit your application until all mandatory fields have been satisfied.
Mandatory fields are visually identified in Loanapp by a red border.
Completed Mandatory Fields
Once mandatory fields have been completed with acceptable data, the fields will have a neutral border.
Optional Fields
Optional fields are presented with a neutral border.
Optional fields are not required to be completed prior to submission.
Visible 'on condition'
When completing pages in Loanapp, you will notice that fields appear and/or disappear as you enter data.
This is because some fields are 'triggered' as required when another field has been completed in a certain way.
An example of this is Previous Name.
If the Previous Name field is set to No, nothing happens.
But if the Previous Name field is set to Yes, a number of new fields appear with new, required information.
