Supporting Documents need to be assigned to Checklist items in order to be verified and sent to the Lender as part of your application.

Sometimes you might want to Create an Exception. This is effectively a message to the Lender explaining why a particular Checklist item can't be satisfied. It might be because the Supporting Document is currently not available, or some of the conditions on the document are unable to be verified. Both examples will be shown below:

Example 1 - Supporting Document is not available at this time

Step 1

Click on the item in the Checklist that you wish to create an exception for. The required Supporting Document/s will appear in the far right hand column.

Step 2

Click on the Supporting Doc in the right hand column to highlight it.
Notice that the 'Create Exception' menu icon is now active.
At this point, the Checklist item has not been satisfied as shown by the 'red' outstanding indicator.

Step 3

Click the Create Exception menu icon. A pop-up will appear.

At this point, you can select the reason for requesting an exception for the item. In the drop-down, select from one of the following options:

  • Incorrect Requirement (requirement should not apply for this application)

  • Document Unavailable

  • Other

If selecting the Other option, complete the Description field and describe the details for the exception.

Click Create to apply the exception to the checklist item.

Step 4

You will notice the Exception now appears under the Supporting Document. The Checklist item has been satisfied but will appear in 'orange' to indicate an Exception has been created.

Example 2 - Not all conditions have been verified on a Supporting Document

Step 1

Click on the item in the Checklist that you wish to create an exception for. The required Supporting Document/s will appear in the far right hand column.

 Step 2

Assumption that you have already uploaded the Supporting Document and it is currently sitting in the far left hand column.
Use your mouse to drag the document from the left of the screen over to the right, ensuring that you go over the highlighted Checklist item and then over to the Supporting Document.
Then drop the document.

Step 3

The document will now be presented and you will be asked to verify the information on the document against the data entered into Loanapp.
In this example, all items can be verified except for the Expiry Date which does not match. Leave this item unchecked and click Save.

Step 4

You will notice that the document has been assigned to the Checklist item (as shown by the green tick).
The red exclamation mark, means that the document has NOT been verified completely and therefore the Checklist item has not yet been satisfied.

Step 5

You now need to Create an Exception to explain to the Lender why you have not been able to verify all the data on the document.
Click on the Supporting Doc name (not the image) to active the Create Exception menu icon.

Step 6

Type in your explanation to the Lender.
Click Create.

Step 7

You will notice the Exception now appears under the Supporting Document. The Checklist item has been satisfied but will appear in 'orange' to indicate an Exception has been created.
