If you've gotten up to this stage, it means your account is set up and ready to use. Congratulations on making it this far!

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is a method of identifying users by presenting two or more separate authentication stages. MFA is optional, but strongly recommended since it provides an extra layer of security to your Loanapp account.

To enable MFA, follow the following steps:

Step 1:

Sign into your Loanapp account, click on your name at the top right hand corner and select Account from the drop-down list.

Step 2:

Your Loanapp Account will open and you will now be able to see Multifactor Authentication at the bottom of that page with Enable in green. Click that button:

Step 3:

Clicking Enable will prompt you to confirm your password which will then log you out of your account. So it is important you download the Google Authenticator application on your smartphone before you go ahead with enabling this feature.

That's because once you confirm your password and get logged out, the next time you attempt to log in, you must scan a QR Code and type in the generated code from your smartphone.

So to breakdown the process further, here's what you have to do:

A) Download Google Authenticator on your phone. The application is available for Android and Apple users

B) Confirm your password on Loanapp and click Submit, which will then log you out:

C) Log back into your account and you will see the below page pop up. Open the app on your phone and focus the green frame over the QR code on your computer, for a code to be generated:

A code will be displayed on your phone like so:

You can then enter that code in Loanapp and you're in!

N.B: The generated code only lasts 30 seconds. If you miss that code for whatever reason, don't worry as a new one generates once the previous code expires.
