The attachment options offered depend on each social platform and media type:
Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest images allow you to add alt text
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube (not shorts), and TikTok videos allow cover images/thumbnails
Facebook and LinkedIn videos allow video titles
This article will show you how to add cover images/thumbnails and titles to your video posts from media settings.
Cover Images/ Thumbnails
💡Tips:
Once a cover image has been added, a VC icon will appear below the video title.
You can always open settings to remove and upload a new cover image before publishing the post
Cover images can also be added or adjusted in the Fine-Tune Content step
Adding a custom cover image
To upload custom cover images from your desktop:
Go to Post Builder and upload a video you would like to schedule
Click the gear icon to open the Attachment Metadata video settings popup
Click the Upload Custom Cover Image button
Select an image from your desktop and press Done.
📝 Note:
Custom cover images for TikTok videos and Instagram carousels are not supported. To choose a cover image, go to the Fine-Tune Content step and select a frame from the video timeline for TikTok and Instagram carousels.
Thumbnails on YouTube Shorts are not supported due to API limitations.
YouTube thumbnail specifications
Here are the guidelines for uploading YouTube thumbnails:
The YouTube channel must be verified. You can confirm that the channel has been verified or complete the verification steps by going to YouTube's verification page
Cover images/thumbnails must be less than 2MB
Thumbnails for YouTube shorts are not supported due to API restrictions
Instagram Reels custom cover image specifications
File size: 8MB maximum
Color Space: sRGB. Images that use other color spaces will be converted to sRGB.
Aspect ratio: We recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces. If the original image's aspect ratio is not 9:16, we will crop the image and use the middle portion of the 9:16 rectangle as the cover image for the Instagram Reel. If you share an Instagram Reel to your feed, we will crop the image and use the center 1:1 square as the cover image for your feed post.
Selecting a frame from the video
To select a cover photo/thumbnail for your video post:
Go to Post Builder and upload a video you would like to schedule
Click the gear icon to open the Attachment Metadata video settings popup
Select the Choose Cover Image From Video button
Choose the cover photo/thumbnail using the timeline slider below the video
Select Use This Frame once you have the cover photo you would like to use
Video title
To add a title for your LinkedIn or Facebook videos:
Go to the Fine-Tune Content step for Facebook and LinkedIn
Open the Attachment Metadata video settings
Add the video title and press Done
You'll can easily view the title in the Attachments section
