Once you are inside your wallet, a few minutes of setup will save you a lot of time later. This page walks through what you see on the first screen, the settings we recommend turning on straight away, and where everything else lives.
What you see on the Dashboard
The Dashboard is your home screen. At the top you see the total value of everything you hold, together with how that value has moved over the last day, and a chart underneath it.
Below the chart is My Tokens, the list of everything currently in your wallet with the amount and the value of each one.
Across the top of that panel are the actions you will use most often:
Send Tokens moves an asset to another address.
Receive shows your own address so someone can send to you.
Bulk Transfer lets you send to more than one recipient in one go.
The settings to turn on first
Open Settings from the left menu. Three switches there change how smoothly everyday transfers work, and we suggest turning all three on before you send anything.
The two One-step Transfers switches, and UTXO Management, in Settings.
One-step transfers for Canton Coin. With this off, an incoming transfer waits for you to accept it by hand, and each acceptance carries a network fee. With it on, incoming transfers arrive on their own.
One-step transfers for utility tokens. The same setting, applied to the other instruments issued on the network rather than to Canton Coin. You can allow them by issuer, so you stay in control of which ones are covered.
UTXO management. Your balance is not stored as a single number. It is held as separate pieces, and a transfer has to be built out of them. Leaving this on lets your wallet keep those pieces tidy in the background, so you are far less likely to run into a transfer that cannot be built.
Add the people you send to
Address Book, also in Settings, stores the addresses you use regularly under a name you choose. Sending to a saved name instead of pasting a long address each time removes the single most common cause of a lost transfer, which is sending to the wrong place.
A transfer cannot be reversed once it has left, so this is worth doing early.
Look after your Private Key
Settings also holds your Private Key. It is the only thing that proves the wallet is yours, and nobody at Loop can recover it or reset it for you.
Store it somewhere offline that only you can reach. Never type it into a website, never send it in a message, and never share it with anyone who contacts you claiming to be support. Loop will never ask you for it.
The rest of the menu
Swap exchanges one asset for another.
Offers holds transfers and requests that are waiting on you, split into incoming, outgoing and deposits. An incoming item may need you to approve it before it completes, so it is worth checking here if something you expected has not arrived.
History is the record of everything that has moved.
Discover is the directory of the applications built to work with your wallet.
Currency, under Settings, sets the currency your balances are displayed in.
