Subscriptions migration

Learn how to migrate existing subscriptions to Loop using white-glove expert support or the manual migration utility for smaller volumes.

Updated over a week ago

Loop offers seamless tools and white-glove services to help you transition existing subscriptions from your current platform/app into Loop. This guide explains both the automated migration by our migration experts and the manual migration options for smaller volumes. We recommend reaching out to us at migrations@loopwork.co for a smooth, white-glove experience.

There are two ways to migrate subscriptions

  • White-glove migration by Loop team

  • Manual migration using Loop’s inbuilt utility

Prerequisites

Here are a few things that you are required to have before we proceed further with this guide

If migrating from a non-Shopify platform, payment import must be completed first. Reach out to us if you're unsure about eligibility or compatibility.

White-glove migration service

Reach out to us at migrations@loopwork.co to have your subscriptions migrated by our professional team of migration experts who ensure that our customers are ensured a white-gloved, stress-free experience. All that is needed would be a data export from the platform that you are migrating from, and we will take care of the rest.

Our team takes care of everything-from data formatting to import. It takes approximately 1 hour to migrate 1000 subscriptions on Loop for a Shopify store and 2000 subscriptions for a Shopify Plus store. Here's a sample CSV of the format that we use for our migration process.

We provide free migration for any brand that is on the Loop Starter plan and above.

Manual subscription migration

The merchant can choose to manually migrate their subscriptions from other platforms to Loop using the inbuilt utility. This facilitates the migration process by allowing you to create the subscription contract manually on the platform.

Requirements

You can use our Payment Migration Guide to import payment tokens first.

Follow these steps to complete the process.

  1. Navigate to Loop app > Subscriptions > Create subscription manually

  2. Search for customer and fill in product and plan details, and click on Save and review.

If your payment tokens are vaulted on Shopify and still you are not able to get payment method in the above process, please reach out to support@loopwork.co to run payment sync for your subscribers

This method is best suited when you have less than 50 subscriptions on your previous platform

FAQs

After migration, subscription orders are being successfully placed in Loop. However, the analytics dashboard is still showing 0 orders. Why?

If subscription orders are being successfully placed but the analytics dashboard still shows 0 orders, please navigate to Loop > Analytics > Subscribers. Check if there’s a banner at the top stating: "Reconciliation is in process". If so, kindly wait a couple of days for the data to update and reflect accurately.
