Below is a checklist we recommend for every pick up.
Customer Service:
Confirm the pickup appointment with the customer in advance. We generally provide a 1-2 hour window to account for traffic and any other delays.
Let the customer know if you will be late for a pickup.
Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor throughout the pickup process.
Communicate clearly with the customer and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Pre-Inspection:
Inspect the couch thoroughly for any damages or defects before loading.
Document and take clear photos of any existing issues.
If the pick-up is rejected, communicate any findings and reasons for rejection to the customer (e.g. bed bugs).
Protection and Safety Gear:
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and safety shoes.
Bring moving blankets or furniture pads to protect the couch during transport.
Ensure the safety of both the flippers and the customer during the pickup.
Safe Removal:
Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
Remove any obstacles or potential hazards from the pathway before moving the couch.
Double-check doorways and hallways to ensure the couch can be maneuvered safely.
Securing the Couch:
Secure the couch properly in the vehicle to prevent shifting during transit.
Use ratchet straps or tie-downs to fasten the couch securely.
Consider using moving blankets or bubble wrap to add an extra layer of protection.
