Find companies and add them to a table

Filter Loopster's company database and import the matches into a new table.

Written by Umer Ishaq

You can search Loopster's own company database with filters and import the matching companies into a new table.

How do I open the Companies page?

  1. Go to Home and click Find leads.

  2. Click Find companies.

The Find leads card on Home with its menu open below it, listing Find people, Find companies, Google Search and Local Businesses. Find companies is outlined in red.

You can also use the Companies link in the left sidebar. The page is called Companies. It has a Filters panel on the left and a preview of matches.

How do I narrow the list down?

Use the filters on the left. They include Industry, Employees, Company size, Country, State / province, City and Postal code. Further down are Revenue, Company type, Keywords, Company name, Has a live website, Founded, Total funding (USD), Funding rounds and Exclusions.

The first filters in the Filters panel: Industry, set to SaaS, then Employees with Min and Max boxes, Company size showing Any size, Country, State / province, City and the start of Postal code. Under Employees the help text says about half of companies have none recorded, and those never match. Under Company size it says about half of companies have none and are left out when this is set.

A lower part of the Filters panel: Revenue showing Any revenue, Company type set to Privately Held, Keywords with two keywords, analytics and reporting, Company name, Has a live website switched on with the note Domain checked in the last 45 days, and Founded with empty Min and Max boxes.

For example:

  1. Open Industry and pick Information Technology.

  2. In the Country field, type a country such as United Kingdom and press Enter.

There is no Search button. Results load as soon as you set a filter. The count at the top updates as you add filters. Below it, a preview lists the matches with each company's domain and description.

The results on the Companies page. At the top, the count of matching companies is outlined in red, with the Import to table button at the right. Below it, a list of companies shows each company’s domain and description.

How do I import the matches?

  1. Click Import to table at the top right. A dialog called "Import to a new table" opens.

  2. Check the table name. It is filled in from your filters, for example "Companies · Information Technology · United Kingdom".

  3. To bring in fewer companies, type a number in Limit results. When you type a number, the button changes to match, for example Import 25.

  4. Click the import button.

The Import to a new table dialog with the table name Companies · Information Technology · United Kingdom and 25 typed in Limit results. A note saying companies from Loopster's own database cost nothing to import is outlined in red, and the button reads Import 25.

The button shows "Importing…", a message says "Imported 25 records", and the new table opens with a row for each company.

The new table created from the Companies import, with rows of companies and columns for company, domain, description, industry, size and type. In the toolbar, the 25/25 rows count is outlined in red.

Good to know

  • One import brings in at most 50,000 companies. If more match, the dialog tells you to narrow the filters and import again.

  • The dialog says companies from Loopster's own database cost nothing to import. Enrichments you add afterwards are priced as usual.

  • Check Auto-run in the new table's toolbar before you add a column that costs money.
