Save and reuse AI setups with Loopgents

Save an AI column as a Loopgent, use it in other columns, and edit it in one place.

Loopgents let you save an AI column's setup once and reuse it in other columns and tables. This article shows you how to save one, use it, and edit it.

Save an AI column as a Loopgent

  1. Click the header of your AI column to open its menu, then choose Edit column.

  2. Next to Custom prompt, click Save as Loopgent.

  3. It saves straight away under the column's name, and a message confirms it.

  4. The panel now says the prompt, model, tools and depth come from that Loopgent. It also says edits to the Loopgent apply to every column using it. A Detach button is next to it.

  5. Click Save. The column now uses the Loopgent.

An AI column's settings panel. The Custom prompt menu at the top is outlined in red, with a Save as Loopgent button next to it. Below are Use case, Model and a prompt that contains an @Company Name tag.

Click Save before you close the panel. If you close it without saving, the column stays on its own prompt and the Loopgent shows Not in use.

Use a saved Loopgent in a new column

  1. Click Add column, then choose Use AI.

  2. Under Use a saved Loopgent, pick your Loopgent.

  3. The prompt comes from the Loopgent. Check that its input is mapped to the right column, for example Company Name.

  4. Click the arrow next to the button, then choose Add column without running. This adds an empty column.

Find all your Loopgents

Open Loopgents in the sidebar. The page says "Reusable agents you can deploy across your workspace." Each row shows the Loopgent's depth, its prompt and where it is used, for example 2 columns. Click a name to open it in the editor.

The Loopgents page with a box that says Describe what you want your Loopgent to do, four starter cards, and a table of two Loopgents, Company summary and Use AI. The Company summary row is outlined in red. The Owner column is blurred.

Edit a Loopgent

In the editor you can:

  • Set the Model, the Loopgent depth and the Temperature.

  • Review its Inputs and Outputs. Outputs can use Fields or JSON Schema.

  • Use the switches under tools: Retrieve URL, Google Search, HubSpot Lookup, Salesforce Lookup, Table Lookup and Web Navigator (Beta).

  • Look at Documents. The editor describes them as read on every run, and says PDF, Text, Markdown and CSV files are supported, up to 4 MB each.

  • See which columns use it under Deployed to.

The prompt is in the middle, and each input shows as a chip. On the right, the Assistant rewrites the prompt, inputs and output fields from a short description. Nothing is saved until you save it.

Build a Loopgent from a description

  1. On the Loopgents page, type what you want in the box that says "Describe what you want your Loopgent to do…".

  2. Click Build Loopgent.

  3. It drafts the prompt, inputs, model and outputs. Nothing is saved yet.

  4. Check the draft. Click Save when it looks right. Test is next to it.

If you leave before saving, Loopster asks "Leave without saving?".

Good to know

  • Editing a Loopgent changes every column that uses it.

  • Save as Loopgent uses the column's name. If you want a different name, rename the column first.
