Top up your wallet, set auto top-up and read your funds history

Where the Wallet tab is, how topping up and auto top-up are offered, and what the funds history lists.

Written by Umer Ishaq

Your wallet pays for external providers and AI usage. Data Loopster already has is free.

Where do I open it?

Click the wallet button at the top right and choose Manage wallet, or go to Settings, then Plan & billing, then the Wallet tab. The Add funds link in Settings also opens it.

The popover has one button, Manage wallet. It has no Top up button. The small "i" icon next to its text has no tooltip.

The Loopster wallet popover open from the wallet button at the top right of the table. It shows Available funds, a black Manage wallet button, and a note that the wallet holds real dollars, not credits, and pays for premium providers at the price shown before anything runs. The Manage wallet button is outlined in red.

What does the Wallet tab say?

It says that data Loopster already has is free. The wallet pays for external providers at the per-row price shown before anything runs, and for AI columns by the model tokens they use.

How do I top up?

On the free trial you can't top up your wallet. To add funds, upgrade to a plan. The steps below are for accounts on a plan. See Your free trial: what's included and what happens when it ends.

  1. Under Wallet balance, pick an amount. The menu shows what it buys, for example "$100 — ~7,900 provider lookups".

  2. Click Top up.

The Wallet tab of Plan and billing, with the tabs Plan, Wallet, Billing details and Invoices, a notice that billing is managed by Loopster, a Wallet balance card with an amount menu showing $100 for about 7,900 provider lookups, a Top up button, a link See what $100 buys at each provider, and a note on what the wallet pays for. To the right is an Auto top-up card with its switch off. The amount menu is outlined in red.

The amount menu has nine fixed options. The page has no field for a custom amount. $100 is selected when the page opens. The options read:

  • $50 — ~3,900 provider lookups

  • $100 — ~7,900 provider lookups

  • $300 — ~24,000 provider lookups

  • $500 — ~39,000 provider lookups

  • $1,000 — ~79,000 provider lookups

  • $2,000 — ~160,000 provider lookups

  • $5,000 — ~390,000 provider lookups

  • $10,000 — ~790,000 provider lookups

  • $20,000 — ~1.6M provider lookups

There is also a link, See what $100 buys at each provider →.

What does the "What $100 buys" window show?

The link opens a window called "What $100 buys". It says "Every provider you can call, at the price you pay per row." The amount in the link follows the amount you picked in the menu.

The window has:

  • An amount menu.

  • A search box for a provider or action.

  • Three filters: All, Data and AI.

  • A table with Provider, Action, Lookups for $100 and Per row.

The What $100 buys window. Under the title it says Every provider you can call, at the price you pay per row. A row of controls has a $100 amount menu, a search box and the All, Data and AI filters. Below is a table with the columns Provider, Action, Lookups for $100 and Per row, listing providers such as AI Ark, Surfe and Up2Data with their lookup counts and prices per row. A footnote at the bottom explains that you are charged per verified result.

Some rows show a range instead of one price, for example "$0.034–$0.355 by outcome".

The footer says: "You are charged per verified result. Data already in Loopster is free and never touches your wallet. The dropdown's lookup count is priced at Findymail — Find email; AI figures estimate a typical row, billed by tokens as steps run."

Click Close, or press Esc, to close the window.

How does auto top-up work?

On the free trial, auto top-up can't add funds either: to top up, upgrade to a plan.

The Auto top-up card says "Refill automatically when your balance runs low." If you have no card saved, it adds "Add a payment method to finish setting this up →". A saved card is needed. See the article on plans, billing details and invoices.

With no card saved, the Auto top-up switch is greyed out and switched off, so you cannot turn it on. The only action is the link "Add a payment method to finish setting this up →". It opens Billing details. That tab says "No payment method saved" and "Auto top-up and plan payments need a saved card.", and it has an Add payment method button.

The Payment methods card on the Billing details tab. It shows a Payment method box that says No payment method saved, with the line Auto top-up and plan payments need a saved card and a dark Add payment method button. The Add payment method button is outlined in red.

In this state the card shows no amount field and no threshold field. It does not say what "runs low" means or how much it refills.

What is in the funds history?

Funds usage & lookups says "Where your money came from and where it went." The table has Date, Description and Amount. Rows say Funds used with the amount spent, and additions such as Plan starter balance or Added by Loopster. Click Show more for older rows.

What to expect:

  • The newest row is first. The page shows 25 rows, then Show more.

  • A day with spend has one Funds used row. That day's spend is added up into it, so one run does not make one row.

  • A description does not name a table, a run or a provider.

  • The page has no filter, sort, search or export.

Good to know

  • The wallet is shared by every workspace in your organization.

  • To limit what one workspace can spend, see the article on workspaces and spend limits.
