Before you can manage your affiliate codes, make sure you have finished setting up your Salesforce integration. Instructions for this can be found here Setup a new API client in Salesforce Account Manager and integrate that client with LoudCrowd.
Once you have finished installing your integration, Loudcrowd will provide a coupon id that needs to be used to create the base Coupon entity in Salesforce Business Manager. This is the entity in Salesforce that Loudcrowd will use to manage your Ambassador’s affiliate codes in your Storefront Program. The ID of the coupon will be in the format LC_COUPON_{...}
. Ensure the coupon is created as case insensitive as this is not a field that can be updated after the coupon is created.
Please do not change the ID of the Coupon as this is how we are able to identify which coupon to update when changes are made to your Storefront Program in the Loudcrowd app.
Once the integration is created and we finish generating the coupon, you will need to create a new Campaign and a Promotion in Salesforce business manager so your customers can receive discounts from your ambassadors.
The Promotion:
Defines the type of Discount. Loudcrowd Storefronts currently support Order and Product discounts for your affiliate codes.
Defines the conditions that the promotion can be applied to an Order/Product(s)
Defines the amount off an Order/Product(s)
If your promotion is only valid for specific Categories, please ensure that the Categories selected are also selected in the Product Picker. Otherwise, your ambassadors will not be able to pick the products that qualify for the promotion you configured. These can be found in your Program Settings page in Loudcrowd.
Similarly, if your promotion is only valid for specific products, ensure that the products selected are within at least one of the categories selected in the Product Picker settings.
The Campaign:
Ties the promotion together with the Loudcrowd generated Coupon.
Make sure the coupon Loudcrowd generated is selected in the Schedule and Qualifiers
section of the Create/Edit campaign menu. You will also need to tie the Promotion you created to the campaign at the very bottom of Create/Edit campaign menu called Experiences
.
How we Manage Coupons in Salesforce
Once the Coupon is generated in Salesforce Business Manager, Loudcrowd will automatically generate a unique coupon code for all existing members of your Program. Similarly when members are accepted into the program, Loudcrowd will immediately generate a new coupon code for the affiliate. Coupon codes will also be deleted from the coupon object whenever members are removed from the Storefront Program.
While our system is capable of automatically managing all of your affiliate’s coupon codes, you have the option to customize every affiliates coupon code in the Social CRM profile page. Loudcrowd will display the affiliate code of an ambassador if they are a member of a Storefront Program. Simply hover the code and click the pencil icon to customize their affiliate code.
How we ensure Uniqueness in Coupon Codes
In Salesforce, all coupon codes must be unique across all existing coupons in your Site. Given this, coupon codes we automatically generate may conflict with an existing code. Loudcrowd will attempt to generate an assortment of variations using their First name, Last name, and Social username to generate a unique code for every member of your Storefront Program. Your Loudcrowd Representative will configure your preferred variation that should take priority in our code generation system.
