Insurance Verification

Updated over a week ago

We verify the insurance status of each client using the information you provided when you create the client on Loula.

A client’s insurance status can be:

  • Under Review: this is the client’s default insurance status when you create the client. They will remain in Under Review until we've made a determination about whether we can bill their insurance.

  • Active: the client’s insurance has been verified by Loula and you can begin submitting visits with this client!

  • Unverified: the client’s insurance could not be verified with the information you’ve provided.

    • You'll receive an email notification if we are not able to verify your client's insurance information. The next step would be reaching out to your client to confirm all of the information they've provided, including name, date of birth, and plan name, and member ID.

  • Inactive: the client’s insurance is confirmed to be inactive

    • Please ask the client whether they have switched to any other insurance coverage.

    • When you get the client’s updated health plan information, use the “Edit” button under the Insurance section of the Client Profile to update the health plan.

  • Denied: This means that Loula is unable to bill this client's insurance. Typically this means that Loula does not have a contract with the client's primary insurance plan.

It takes up to three business days for Loula to verify a client's insurance.

When we have an update on a client's insurance status, you will receive an email. Log-in to the Loula platform to view the update.
