1. Navigate to the 'Bank Statements' option in the left hand side bar
From here you can see your recent PDF bank statement uploads and the Bank Accounts which they belong to.
This feature may be useful when you have bank account transactions that relate to an account which does not have a native bank feed connection with Xero or QuickBooks.
2. Upload Bank Statement PDF Files
Click the 'Upload Statements' button in the top right corner and select your PDF files.
Luca will assume that all pages in a single PDF file relate to the same Bank Account and begin to first extract the bank account which this bank statement relates to. If Luca has seen this bank account before then these transactions will be appended to that existing accounts transactions. Alternatively if this is the first time Luca has seen a statement from this account, a new bank account will be created in the Luca UI for you to navigate to - you do not need to create a bank account manually, this is handled by Luca AI based on the statement data.
3. View and Export Transactions in CSV / Excel format
Once the PDF file and the associated bank account is in the 'Ready to Export' state you can navigate to the bank account and view all extracted transactions. If you click a transaction you will be able to see the original statement PDF file from which it was exported.
When ready, you can click the 'Export' button in the top right corner to select a date range and export format for your transactions data. Luca provides some standardised templates to make it easy for you to upload these transactions to your accounting software.
