What is Continuing Professional Education (CPE)?
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is required for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) as well as other accounting and finance professionals to maintain their designation. It ensures professionals stay current with changes in regulation, standards, and industry practices to uphold competence and ethical standards across the profession.
Is LumiQ a NASBA-approved CPE provider?
Yes, LumiQ is a NASBA-approved provider through the Quality Assurance Service (QAS) Self-Study delivery method. Our episodes meet NASBA standards for CPE credit, offering high-quality content, clear learning objectives, and certificates of completion.
Can I earn CPE by listening to episodes on LumiQ?
LumiQ offers QAS Self-Study programs, known as episodes, which qualify for CPE credit in accordance with NASBA standards. To maximize learning, these episodes include interactive chapter quizzes that provide immediate and pertinent feedback. Users who complete an episode and pass a qualified assessment after listening to the entire program will receive a certificate of completion for their CPE credit.
Are LumiQ CPE credits accepted in every state?
LumiQ CPE credits are accepted in most U.S. states and jurisdictions that recognize NASBA-approved providers. However, as state requirements can vary, LumiQ advises CPAs and other designated professionals confirm acceptance with their state board, jurisdiction, or credentialing organization to ensure compliance with continuing education requirements.
Can LumiQ confirm that the episode content fulfills specific CPE or Continuing Education (CE) requirements, such as the California Fraud requirement?
While LumiQ offers episodes that may align with various CPE or CE requirements across jurisdictions, it is ultimately the responsibility of each user to determine whether an episode meets their specific state or jurisdiction’s definition of acceptable continuing education.
Although LumiQ provides numerous fraud-related episodes that may align with diverse fraud CE needs, NASBA has not established a dedicated "fraud" Field of Study. Users should review the episode learning objectives, content description, and their own professional responsibilities to ensure the material is appropriate and applicable to their required CPE or CE hours.
