When you send an international transfer, it is important that the information is correct β especially the account number, recipient's name, and currency.
If the payment is sent via local payment channels
For payments sent via local rails (local bank connections in the recipient country), the outcome depends on the recipient bank's practice:
In many cases, a discrepancy between the name and account number will be detected, and the payment will be rejected and returned.
If the account number is valid but belongs to another person, the payment may go through, and we cannot guarantee that the money will be returned. However, we can assist you in initiating an inquiry.
If the payment is sent via SWIFT
If you have entered a valid but incorrect IBAN number, the money is usually sent to that account number regardless of whether the name matches or not.
A return requires the recipient bank to contact the recipient and obtain consent to send the money back. It is not possible to force a reversal.
If the IBAN and name do not match, the payment may be rejected, and the money will be returned β often with a fee.
Remember:
It is your responsibility as the sender to ensure that all information is correct before you approve the payment.
Have you entered something incorrectly? Contact our customer support as soon as possible β we'll investigate if we can assist.
