How to Create and Manage Personas

This guide walks you through creating and managing Luster Personas

This article will focus on Personas within the Luster platform, specifically how to create and edit them.

Only Luster Admins can create and edit Personas. Managers and Users are not able to.


What are Luster Personas?

Let's start at the beginning - what is a Persona within the Luster platform?

Personas are what bring your Customers to life for your end-users. This is where you can replicate your buyers and create realistic AI-Agents for your end-users to interact with. Every element of their personality, background, knowledge, and pain points is customizable, so that you can make these experiences hyper-realistic.

You can create as many Personas within the Luster platform as you need and/or want! Different titles, industries, and sentiments - the world is your oyster, and we encourage you to even have a little fun with it if you'd like! ( Perhaps you can even replicate a favorite TV character like Phoebe Buffay from the sitcom 'Friends' for your Reps to interact with - seriously! 😉 )


Creating a New Persona

Time to put on your creativity hat on!

To create or edit a persona, navigate to the Personas section in the left navigation pane. To create a new Persona, click on the first tile that has a plus sign, New Persona.

First, you will fill in all of their basic information (Name, gender, age, etc)

Next, you will select your voice(s).

Luster now allows you to customize each persona with multiple voice and language options — including English and French. If a persona is configured with only one language, it will only be available for sessions in that language. To add another language, click the “+” button, choose the desired language, and select a corresponding voice. During a call, users can then choose which language to use based on the options enabled for that persona.

Next, you will select 3 personality traits.

Note: If you select difficult traits, the AI-Agent will be very difficult. For example, if you selected Assertive, Neurotic, and Skeptical - that personlity might be challenging for your end-users to interact with. You know your buyers the best, select what makes the most sense and you can always come back and tweak later.

The next several boxes is where you can really let your creativity fly and make your Personas come to life. You will fill in information related to their Personality, Pain Points, Solved Pain Points, Motivations, and Job Description. We encourage you to fill these with as much information as you can, as the system responds best to detailed descriptors. Feel free to use bullet points and even common phrases, words, or sentences your buyers might typically use.

Under Persona Description, this is what your end-users will read when they open the call - give them as much (or as little) information as you want them to have ahead of speaking with this buyer.

Lastly, you can select the Avatar for your buyer and then click, Create Persona, and you're all set!


Edit an Existing Persona

If you want to edit an existing Persona, navigate to the Personas section in the left navigation pane, and select the Persona you would like to adjust.

Simply make any adjustments to any of the fields you would like, and click Save Changes at the bottom.
