📌 Schoology: Importing a QTI File

In Schoology, QTI imports happen inside Resources (not directly in courses).

  1. Go to Resources

    • On the top menu, click Resources.

  2. Click Import

    • In the Resources page, open the dropdown menu and choose Import.

  3. Choose the correct format

    • If your file is from LyfeCourse, choose QTI v2.1 or v2.2 (ZIP).

    • If unsure, check with your provider.

  4. Pick where to save it

    • You can import into a new collection or an existing collection.

    • This just controls your organization—it doesn’t affect the import.

  5. Upload your file

    • Attach the QTI zip file and click Import.

  6. Wait for the import

    • You may get an email from Schoology when it’s ready.

    • Once complete, you’ll see the new assessment in your collection.

✅ Done! Open it to confirm your questions came through correctly.

📌 Brightspace: Importing a QTI File

In Brightspace, imports must happen at the course level.

  1. Go to your course page

  2. Click the gear icon

    • Top right corner → choose Import/Export/Copy Components.

  3. Select Import Components

    • Choose Import Components from a file.

    • Click Start.

  4. Upload your file

    • Drag and drop the QTI zip file into the box.

    • Click Import All Components.

  5. Wait for processing

    • The system may take a minute.

    • When complete, click View Content to return to the course.

  6. Check your Question Library

    • At the top, click Quizzes → Question Library.

    • Confirm your imported questions are there.

✅ Done! Your QTI file is now in Brightspace.

⚠️ Note: There’s another “Import” button inside the Question Library. Don’t use that—it won’t work with QTI files.
