Let Lyngo transfer calls back to your clinic

When a caller needs to speak with your team, Lyngo can put them straight through to your clinic

The number Lyngo transfers to must be different from the number that forwards calls into Lyngo — otherwise the call loops back on itself. A mobile or a separate "back line" works perfectly.

Before you start

Have a second phone number ready — your mobile, a back line, or a "ghost number" from your phone provider. It just needs to be different from your public clinic number.

Step 1: Open your call handover settings

In the Lyngo portal, go to AI Controls → Escalations.

Under Call handover to the clinic you'll see each of your locations. Click View details or Enable toggle on the one you want to set up.

Step 2: Turn it on and add your number

In the panel that opens:

  • Switch on Enabled.

  • Under Allow Lyngo to transfer calls to, choose your country code and enter the number Lyngo should transfer to.

  • (Optional) Tick Show caller's number when transferring so you can see who's calling before you answer.

Step 3: Choose when transfers are allowed

Under Allow transfers during, set the hours you're happy to take transferred calls. Outside these hours, Lyngo automatically offers to take a message instead.

  • Use opening hours — match your clinic's hours in one click.

  • Set to 24/7 — allow transfers at any time.

  • Or set each day by hand (+ adds a time range, the bin removes one).

Then click Save.

Note: Lyngo always checks that someone picks up before putting the caller through. If no one answers, it falls back to taking a message - so callers are never left waiting.

Tip: A "back line" or "ghost number" from your phone provider is usually all you need — they can set one up quickly.
