Customise your notes

Customise your notes to match your unique style.

Updated over a week ago

We understand the importance of having your notes sound exactly like you.

Through our customisation, you can alter the headings, structure, content, and tone of voice to mimic the way that you write consult notes.

How to customise notes?

1. Go to the “Customise” page

2. Go to the "Notes" tab

You'll notice there are a couple of things you can change in this page:

  • Note template

  • Sentence Structure

  • Your initial notes

  • Your review notes

  • Telehealth default sign-off

Note template:

Alter the default note type that Lyrebird will use. You can always edit which one is being used during the consultation if required. You can learn about the different note types here.

Sentence Structure:

Adjust the "Sentence Structure" to specify whether your notes appear in paragraph form, bullet points, or dashes.

Initial Notes:

Give Lyrebird instructions to modify the content of your "Initial notes". Any directives given here will be implemented when you choose "Initial notes." If you want instructions to apply to both "Initial notes" and "Review notes," input them in both fields.

Review Notes:

Give Lyrebird instructions to modify the content of your "Review notes". Any directives given here will be implemented when you choose "Review notes." If you want instructions to apply to both "Initial notes" and "Review notes," input them in both fields.

Telehealth default sign-off:

Edit the sign-off for notes created during a Telehealth consult. Any text written will be included at the bottom of your notes for a Telehealth consult.

How to write instructions to Lyrebird?

Write instructions to Lyrebird to change the notes to suit your style. The key to success is to provide instructions in a clear and concise manner with very specific instructions. You generally want to type instructions to Lyrebird in a similar way to how you'd speak to a human. Read our examples below for some ideas.

Examples

Add a new heading called “Medications”. Write into the instructions:

“Always add an additional heading called “Medications”. In this section, include all historical and current medications.”

Add more detail about a patient’s eating habits. Write into the instructions:

“I find it very important that you include as much detail as possible regarding the patients eating habits, you must listen and include as much detail as possible regarding the patients eating habits if mentioned.”

Add less detail. Write into the instructions:

“Make the notes more concise, only include absolutely relevant medical information and exclude any personal or non-essential information. I don't want you to use superfluous language. Where necessary sacrifice grammatical correctness to use fewer words.”

Remove information. Write into the instructions:

“I don't want to include the "Social History" of the patient anywhere it my notes. You should never include it and remove it for every set of notes as it is unnecessary”

You can always continue refining your Lyrebird to give it the context to best understand your preferences. If you find your customisation is not being used as much as you would like, you can use stronger words and include examples to instruct Lyrebird.

The best part of Lyrebird is that it is an intelligent AI, so how you write your customisation is completely up to you. Over time, Lyrebird will continually learn from your changes and only get better!
