Why should I floss?

Flossing is an important part of your oral hygiene routine. It helps to prevent gum disease by removing plaque from between your teeth. Plaque contains bacteria that feed on leftover food or sugar in your mouth, and if not removed it can harden into tartar which can eventually lead to gum disease. Once tartar has formed along your gum line, only your dentist can remove it.

Studies show that brushing your teeth with a toothbrush does not remove all dental plaque buildup between your teeth. This is where flossing comes in and helps to attack the plaque buildup. Make it a daily routine to floss before you brush your teeth for best results.
