As much as possible, The Verdant Lab sources for certified organic ingredients which are grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers. However, there are some necessary ingredients that are not derived from plants and hence do not have an 'organic' option.

For example, sodium hydroxide, which is added to soap to dissolve grease and to maintain pH levels, is synthesised in the lab and therefore can never have an "organic" option.

The final products are not certified organic, but the ingredients that are certified organic are marked out in the ingredients list.
