Room Duplication: Features and Limitations

Updated this week

You can duplicate any room you have access to — whether you’re the owner or a co-teacher.

How to Duplicate a Room

  1. Click the three vertical dots at the end of the row for the room.

  2. Select Duplicate Room

  3. When the confirmation popup appears, click Duplicate Room again.

  4. A "Room Successfully Duplicated" message will appear at the top of the page.

What this feature does:

  • The room name will include “[Copy]” to indicate it’s a duplicate.

  • Users can modify the name if they wish.

  • All tools and customizations will be duplicated.

  • The grade level and the student limit from the original room will be copied over.

  • The new room will be set to active by default, regardless of whether the original room was paused or locked.

  • If you were a co-teacher in the original room, you will now be designated as the "creator" of the new room.

What this feature does NOT do:

  • Co-teachers will not be copied to the new room; you'll need to manually add any teachers you want there.

  • Students and their data will not be copied to the new room, which will be completely empty. Teachers will need to share the new link or code with their students.
