1. Download the App (Windows is in closed beta)

Head over to the Timeless download page and click Download for Mac. The installer file will start downloading.

2. Install the App

For macOS

1. Download Timeless from our website
2. Open the Timeless.dmg from your Downloads
3. Drag the Timeless icon into your Applications folder

Timeless requires the Apple M1 chip and a minimum of macOS 13 to run, but it works best on macOS 14.2 or higher.

For Windows

1. Download Timeless from our website
2. Open Timeless.exe from your Downloads folder
3. The Timeless installer should run

Important! When you first install Timeless for Windows, you may see a "Windows protected your PC" warning from Windows Defender SmartScreen.

This is completely normal for beta software. Here's why:

  • Timeless Desktop is a new application that hasn't yet built up download history with Microsoft

  • Windows SmartScreen uses reputation-based protection, and new apps naturally trigger this warning

  • Once we move to general release and accumulate more downloads, this warning will disappear automatically

To proceed with installation:

  1. Click "More info" on the warning screen

  2. Click "Run anyway" at the bottom

  3. Continue with the installation as normal

Your app is safe to install - this is simply Windows being cautious with new software, which is actually a good security practice!

2. Log In to Your Timeless Account

Once the app is installed, open the Timeless desktop app. You’ll need to log in with your timeOS account credentials.

• If you already have a Timeless account, sign in using Google or Microsoft.

• If you don’t have an account, click Sign In to create one and follow the registration steps. Follow this article for more info on initial registration.

3. Give the App Permissions (for macOS only!)

For the app to function properly, you’ll need to grant it the necessary permissions on your Mac or Windows. These permissions include detecting Zoom meetings, recognizing and processing voices, and recording and transcribing meetings. To allow these please:

  1. Enable Accessibility

  2. Enable Microphone Access

  3. Enable Screen Recording

For macOS, you can also go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > then select Accessibility and Microphone and Screen & System Audio Recording, and check the box next to Timeless, in each of these settings.

4. Record meetings invisibly

Follow this article to see how.
