Record a meeting in three taps
Open Timeless on your phone.
Tap the Record live button on the home screen.
Place your phone on the table where it can hear everyone, and let Timeless listen. Tap Stop & upload when the meeting wraps up.
⚠️ Keep Timeless open the whole time
For the recording to keep running, Timeless must stay open and in focus on your screen for the entire meeting. Do not switch to another app, and do not lock or turn off the screen. Doing any of these will stop the recording.
Set your phone down with the Timeless recording screen showing, and let it run until you tap Stop.
📲 Add Timeless to your Home Screen first
For the smoothest, most reliable experience, add Timeless to your Home Screen so it behaves just like a native app.
On iPhone: tap the ••• (three dots) → Share → Add to Home Screen → Add. Then launch Timeless from that icon whenever you record.
On Android: tap Add to Home Screen at the bottom of the screen.
Why a recording might stop (and how to prevent it)
If a recording ends early or comes out shorter than the meeting, it's almost always because the phone left the Timeless screen while recording. Here's what to watch for:
What happened | Why it stops the recording & what to do |
You switched to another app | Opening any other app (messages, email, browser, camera) takes Timeless out of focus and stops the recording. Stay on the Timeless screen for the whole meeting. |
The screen locked or went to sleep | When the phone locks or the display sleeps, recording stops. Keep the screen on and Timeless in the foreground until you tap Stop. Set your phone somewhere it won't auto-lock. |
You closed or backgrounded Timeless | Closing the tab/app or swiping it away ends the session. Leave it running in the foreground the entire time. |
Microphone access was denied | Without mic permission there's nothing to capture. Tap Allow when prompted, or enable microphone access for Timeless in your phone's settings, then start again. |
You tried to record a phone or WhatsApp call | Record Live captures the audio in the room around you, not audio from a phone call or WhatsApp/voice call. For those, use Call to Timeless. |
Recording phone or WhatsApp calls
Record Live is built for in-person conversations, so it doesn't capture phone calls or WhatsApp/voice calls. For those, use Call to Timeless: a dedicated phone number you dial to bring Timeless into the call.
Where your recording lands
Every in-person recording becomes a regular meeting in Timeless, right alongside your online ones. Open your meeting timeline and it's there with a title based on what was discussed. You can read the transcript, run agents on it, share it, or ask the AI a question about it later, exactly like any other meeting.

Is Timeless the app currently on screen and in focus? (Not backgrounded or minimized.)
Is the screen on and set not to auto-lock during the meeting?
Did you grant microphone access?
Are you trying to capture a phone call? Use Call to Timeless for those.
