You can easily capture, transcribe, and summarize Slack Huddles with timeOS.

Important to remember:

  • Your Slack Bot can join public huddles automatically (once you join them yourself), so no need to worry about summarizing irrelevant Huddles :)

  • Your Slack bot cannot join private huddles automatically, so make sure to invite it to join the huddle! It will send you a private message anytime you join a private huddle to remind you to add it manually.

  • Note that our Slack bot does not support 2FA yet, so if your workspace enforces 2FA your Slack bot will unfortunately not be able to join any Huddles.

How to get started:

  1. Open your Preferences on timeOS, and click on "Slack Huddles".

  2. Enter your Slack workspace URL.
Here's an article on how to find your workspace URL on Slack.

  3. Copy your Slack bots email address.
You'll use this email address to invite timeOS' Slack bot to your workspace.

  4. Invite timeOS' Slackbot to your workspace using the email mentioned above.
Be sure to invite your Slack bot as a member, not as a guest!

You can do so by clicking on "+Add coworkers" at the bottom of your list of direct messages on Slack. Note that you may need approval from your Slack admin to add the Slack bot as a user on your workspace.

For more information, here's an article on how to invite new members on Slack.

  5. That's it, you're all set up to record, transcribe, and summarize Slack Huddles.

Your Slack bot will automatically join you in any Slack Huddles on public channels.
Note that our Slack bot only joins public Slack Huddles automatically if you yourself join the Slack Huddles, so no need to worry about summarizing irrelevant Huddles :)

Your Slack bot cannot join private huddles automatically, so make sure to invite it to the huddle! It will send you a private message anytime you join a private huddle to remind you to invite the Slack bot.

Note:

  • Our Slack bot does not support 2FA yet, so if your workspace enforces 2FA your Slack bot will not be able to join any Huddles.

  • As Slack doesn't support removing participants from huddles, you won't be able to remove the bot as a participant until the huddle is closed.
