When using the Pencil tool, pupils can hold down the Space bar to draw without needing to hold down the trackpad or mouse button. This is perfect for:
Pupils using keyboard-only setups
Pupils with fine motor challenges
Devices where pressing and holding the trackpad can be tiring
This small shortcut makes it easier for all pupils to engage in visual problem-solving and keeps maths digital and inclusive.
Note: This shortcut used to use the Alt key. Since the October 2026 update, use the Space bar instead.
