Snap and Share Student Solutions

Written by Vera

Magma Math allows pupils to take photos of their handwritten work and upload them directly to the canvas. This makes it easier for pupils to show their thinking and for teachers to see the full solution process.

When pupils take a photo, the image is automatically scanned and cropped. This helps conceal pupils' faces and ensures the uploaded work looks neat and organised. Pupils do not need to hold the paper whilst pressing a button to take the photo, which makes capturing the work faster and more accurate.

The feature works best on vertical white papers with minimal hand coverage. Once the photo is taken, it is immediately added to the drawboard, giving teachers full visibility of the pupil's work alongside their digital answers.

Whilst lighting, internet connection, and how the paper is handled can affect the scan, feedback from early use will be used to improve recognition. Over time, scans will become even clearer, creating a more seamless experience for pupils and teachers.

This feature also supports pupils who prefer working on paper whilst submitting answers digitally, giving teachers greater insight into their problem-solving process and creating additional instructional value.
