How do I authorize an email account in Apple Mail?

To use all Mailbutler features, you'll need to authorize each email account connected to Apple Mail.

Step 1: Start the authorization process

  1. Compose and send an email in Apple Mail.

  2. If your account isn't authorized yet, Mailbutler will prompt you to authorize it.

Step 2: Complete the authorization

Follow the instructions for your email provider below.

iCloud

  1. Sign in to your Apple ID account.

  2. Navigate to Sign-In and SecurityApp-Specific Passwords.

  3. Generate a new app-specific password.

  4. Enter the password in Mailbutler and click Verify Password.


Microsoft 365 / Outlook

  1. Click Continue.

  2. Select your Microsoft account and sign.


Gmail

  1. Click Continue.

  2. Select your Google account and sign in.

  3. Click Continue, then select Allow.


IMAP, POP, or Microsoft Exchange

  1. Select Get Password from Keychain.

  2. Enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.


Yahoo

  1. Click Continue.

  2. Sign in to your Yahoo account.

  3. Click Agree.


AOL

  1. Click Continue.

  2. Sign in to your AOL account.

  3. Click Agree.


Step 3: Finish authorization

Mailbutler will send a test email to verify the connection.

Once completed, your account is authorized and all Mailbutler features will be available. 🎉
