What is Preventive Maintenance?

Preventive Maintenance allows you to schedule recurring or one-time maintenance events for assets. When an event is due, Makula automatically creates a work order, ensuring maintenance tasks are never missed.


How do I access Preventive Maintenance?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Assets from the sidebar. Open an asset and go to the Preventive Maintenance tab.


How do I create a preventive maintenance event?

  1. Open the asset you want to schedule maintenance for.

  2. Go to the Preventive Maintenance tab.

  3. Click + Add Preventive Maintenance.

  4. Complete the event details.

  5. Click Save.


What fields are included in a preventive maintenance event?

  • Event Name: A descriptive title for the maintenance event

  • Work Order Type: The type of work order to create when the event is due

  • Frequency: One-time, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly

  • Start Date: When the first event should occur

  • Assignee: The team member responsible for the work order

  • Description: Additional details about the maintenance task


How does automated work order creation work?

When a preventive maintenance event is due, Makula automatically creates a work order with the details you configured. The work order appears in your Work Orders list and is assigned to the specified team member.


How do I edit or delete a preventive maintenance event?

  1. Open the asset containing the event.

  2. Go to the Preventive Maintenance tab.

  3. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the event.

  4. Select Edit to modify the event or Delete to remove it.
