Overview

The AI Assistant feature in Makula enables users to create machine-specific AI Assistants to assist with after-sales support. This feature helps users retrieve answers quickly and efficiently, based on the documentation associated with the machines they are managing.

Enabling AI Access for Users

  1. Navigate to the General Settings in the software's main interface.

  2. Within General Settings, click on User & Teams.

  3. Locate the user you want to grant AI access to, click on the ellipsis (…), and select Edit.

  4. Select Access under the AI Access options to grant the user permission to use the AI Assistant feature.

How to use the Assistant Feature

Navigating to the AI Assistant:

  • Locate the AI Assistant feature from the left main Navigation.

  • Click on the AI Assistant.

Best Practices for Using the AI Assistant

  • Keep Documentation Up-to-Date: Make sure the documentation for each machine is always up to date. The AI Assistant works best when the information is accurate and complete. Reviewing and improving the format and content of the documents over time can also help the AI work better.

  • Review Supporting References: Always review the references provided by the AI to ensure they match the specific context of the query.

  • Machine-Specific Queries: Make sure to ask queries specific to the machine selected, as the assistant will only respond based on the documentation for that machine.

Creating an AI Assistant

  1. To create a new AI Assistant, click the Add Assistant button.

  2. Choose the machine for which you want to create the AI Assistant from the right drawer. Click on Create Assistant Button. The assistant will be tied to the machine's specific documentation.

  3. Once the assistant is created, you can ask questions related to the machine. The AI will provide answers based on the available internal and external documentation uploaded for that machine.

Key Features

  1. Machine-Specific AI Assistants: Users can create AI Assistants tied to individual machines, ensuring responses are based solely on that machine's documentation.

  2. Technical Drawing Identification: One of the key uses of the AI Assistant is helping technicians find the correct technical drawings within the documentation. By using queries, they can quickly locate the relevant sections, which can be a significant time-saver.

  3. Document-Based Responses:

    • The AI generates responses strictly from uploaded documentation, maintaining consistency with manuals and support documents.

    • The AI provides answers along with supporting references, ensuring transparency and reliability of information.

  4. Quick Information Retrieval:

    • Users can ask questions and get instant, relevant answers, reducing the time spent searching through documentation.

Multilingual Support:

The AI Assistant can respond in multiple languages, with answers matching the language of the query. However, the supporting documentation will remain in the original language it was written in.

Troubleshooting

  • No Response or Incorrect Answer: If the AI Assistant is not providing the correct information, verify that the associated documentation is uploaded and is relevant to the query.
