Card limits and spend controls help you stay in control of how your Mamo Cards are used. When issuing multiple cards, they help you manage and restrict spending across your team.
Types of spend controls
There are different types of spend controls you can configure:
Transaction limits
These are limits you can set per single transaction, and gives you utmost control over the size of the purchases your team can attempt. Transactions that exceed the amount of your limit will be declined.
Card limits
You can set total spending limits on your Mamo Card in two ways:
Set a maximum amount that can be spent per day, per week, or per month, OR
Set a maximum total amount with no time limit
Category restrictions
With category restrictions, you can define the types of purchases that are allowed on each card, making sure the cards are used for their intended purpose.
Current category options available under category restrictions are:
Travel & lodging
Meals & entertainment
Fuel & transportation
Software & digital services
To block or allow certain categories, you can define a "block" or "allow" list per card, (but not both at the same time).
Block list: will block specific categories and allow all others (excluding categories that are blocked due to restrictions.)
Allow list: will allow specific categories and block all others
Managing card limits and spend controls
All spend controls and card limits can be amended at any time by users with the right permissions.
To edit or remove the spend limit for any card:
Go to Cards > Cards
Select the card to open the card details page
Click on the three dots (β’β’β’) and select Edit spend controls
Make sure to inform cardholders of any changes, as transactions will fail if the spend limit is reached or category restriction is breached, even if there is an available balance on the card.
