The SERP overview panel on the right of KWFinder shows Google's first page of results for the keyword you selected.

Written by Dev + MKT

The SERP overview panel on the right of KWFinder shows Google's first page of results for the keyword you selected. This page is the search engine results page (SERP). Each URL comes with link and authority data. Loading a keyword's SERP uses one SERP lookup from your plan.

What loads the SERP overview, and what it uses

When you search, KWFinder loads the SERP of the keyword you searched. Click another keyword in the list to load its SERP. Each keyword you load uses one SERP lookup, which also loads its Keyword Difficulty (KD). Clicking a keyword you already opened in the same results uses nothing.

Basic includes 100 SERP lookups per 24 hours, Premium 500 and Agency 1,200. See How lookups and limits work, and when they reset.

The SERP overview panel with Just now, Analyze SERP, the columns button, the URL, DA, PA, CF, TF, Links, LPS, Opps and EV columns, and Map Pack and People Also Ask rows between the results.

How old are the results in the SERP overview?

Next to the SERP overview heading, a clock shows when this SERP was last fetched from Google. It reads "Just now", then hours or days, for example "14 days ago". After 30 days it shows a date.

KWFinder often shows a stored copy. Loading it uses a SERP lookup too.

Get a fresh copy of the results

  1. Point at the age next to SERP overview.

  2. Select Fetch new SERP.

KWFinder loads a new copy of the results and updates the KD. This uses no extra SERP lookup: the lookup was counted when the keyword's SERP first loaded.

If the SERP is from today (in UTC), there is no button. The tooltip says "This SERP is pretty fresh, so re-fetching is disabled."

What the columns in the SERP overview mean

Column

What it shows

URL

The ranking page. The number on the left is its position in Google.

DA

Domain Authority, a score by Moz that predicts how well the domain will rank.

PA

Page Authority, a score by Moz that predicts how well this page will rank.

CF

Citation Flow, a score by Majestic based on how many sites link to the URL.

TF

Trust Flow, a score by Majestic based on the quality of the links to the URL.

Links

External backlinks to the URL. Hover for referring domains, IPs and subnets.

LPS

Link Profile Strength, the overall strength of the URL's links, developed by Mangools.

Opps

Keyword opportunities: weak spots of the ranking page that you can use to outrank it.

EV

Estimated visits per month on this position (see below).

To show or hide columns, select the columns button next to Analyze SERP and use Select columns. Every column starts switched on except FB, the number of Facebook shares. KWFinder remembers your choice in this browser.

The rows follow Google's order, not LPS. LPS measures only links, so a page with a lower LPS can rank above one with a higher LPS. KD is calculated from the LPS of the URLs on this first page. Keyword Difficulty (KD): what it means and when you see it explains KD.

What estimated visits mean in the SERP overview

EV in the SERP overview estimates the visits per month that the page in that position gets from this keyword. KWFinder calculates it from the keyword's average monthly search volume. It is an estimate, not the site's real traffic.

EV follows the search volume timeframe you choose in the Search column of the keyword list. Small values show as "< 10". N/A means KWFinder has no search volume for the keyword.

Icons and rows without numbers

  • The small icon before each URL shows the content type of the page, for example a forum, a blog or a product page. Hover over it to see the name.

  • A featured snippet has an icon instead of a position number. KWFinder does not count it as position 1.

  • Rows for AI Overview, People Also Ask, Map Pack, Shopping Ads and Knowledge Graph show where these features appear. They have no position and no metrics.

See the next page of results

Select Load next page under the table. KWFinder adds the next Google results page below and scrolls to it. Each page uses one SERP lookup.

If no new rows appear, check your SERP lookups in the account menu.

Open the results in SERPChecker

Select Analyze SERP. SERPChecker opens in a new tab and searches the same keyword in the same location, on Desktop. That search uses its own SERP lookup, even though KWFinder already loaded the results. See Analyze a search results page with SERPChecker.

More actions for one URL

Select the three dots at the end of a row:

  • Copy metrics and Copy URL copy the row's data or its address. They appear only when your browser window is at least 1,920 pixels wide.

  • URL Profile opens the URL in SiteProfiler.

  • Show backlinks opens the URL's backlinks in LinkMiner.

  • Show keywords runs a KWFinder search by domain for the URL, with the location set to Anywhere.

The SERP overview is empty or shows a message

"Sorry, no SERP results for this keyword." means KWFinder got no results to show. If that looks wrong, contact us with the keyword and location.

If the panel says "You're doing too much" or "Your plan has expired", your SERP lookups are used up for now. See KWFinder shows no results: 'processing', errors and limit messages.
