Who is it for?

Your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable. This computer is connected to the network. You printer has a network port available but you have no ethernet socket

  1. Attach a USB-to-Ethernet Adapter

  • Plug the adapter into an available USB port on your computer.

  • This adapter will serve as the network interface for your printer.

2. Connect the Printer via Ethernet

  • Use an Ethernet cable to link the adapter to your printer’s Ethernet port.

  • Ensure the cable is firmly connected on both ends.

3. Enable DHCP on the Printer

  • Check your printer’s network settings to confirm DHCP is active.

  • Once DHCP is enabled, the printer should obtain an IP address in the format 169.254.x.x.

  • If it does not display such an address, try restarting the printer and checking again.
