Who is it for?
Your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable. This computer is connected to the network. You printer has a network port available but you have no ethernet socket
available and you would like to connect the printer to the network for monitoring.
Attach a USB-to-Ethernet Adapter
Plug the adapter into an available USB port on your computer.
This adapter will serve as the network interface for your printer.
2. Connect the Printer via Ethernet
Use an Ethernet cable to link the adapter to your printer’s Ethernet port.
Ensure the cable is firmly connected on both ends.
3. Enable DHCP on the Printer
Check your printer’s network settings to confirm DHCP is active.
Once DHCP is enabled, the printer should obtain an IP address in the format 169.254.x.x.
If it does not display such an address, try restarting the printer and checking again.
4. Verify Printer Access via Browser
Open a web browser on the same computer to which the printer is connected.
Enter the printer’s IP address (e.g., 169.254.x.x) in the address bar.
Confirm that you can reach the printer’s web user interface.
5. Install the MaprixUSBAgent Software
Run and install MaprixUSBAgent-Setup.msi on your computer.
After installation, note your computer’s IP address:
Open the Command Prompt on your Windows PC.
Type
ipconfig
and press Enter.Locate the IPv4 Address under the adapter that is connected via your organization router.
Make sure your firewall allows for remote connections to the computer.
6. Access the Printer through the Computer’s IP
On another computer in the same network using a web browser, enter your computer’s IP address (e.g.,
192.168.1.10
).Check that it displays the printer’s web interface.
If successful, you can now monitor the printer remotely using our Maprix Connector.
