What is the Markable referral program?
Markable's referral program lets you invite creator friends to Markable and earn subscription credit. With Give $20, Get $20:
Your friend receives $20 credit towards their Markable subscription.
You receive $20 Markable credit once your friend becomes a qualified referral.
How does the referral program work?
Share your unique referral link with a creator friend.
They sign up through your link and receive $20 credit towards their Markable subscription. At the same time, you receive $20 Pending Credit.
They subscribe to a paid Markable plan and then complete at least one automatic renewal charge — the charge that occurs when their paid plan renews at the end of a billing cycle. The free Markable Starter plan does not count.
Once your creator friend qualifies, your pending $20 credit is activated.
What is a qualified referral?
A referral qualifies only when all of the following happen within 120 days of the Referral's signup:
signs up through your referral link,
subscribes to a paid Markable plan, and
completes at least one automatic renewal charge on that paid plan — the charge that occurs when the plan renews at the end of a billing cycle.
Subscribing alone is not enough — the paid plan must renew at least once. The free Markable Starter plan does not count.
If the Referral does not complete all of the above within 120 days of signup, the
Referrer's Pending Credit expires and does not reactivate, even if the Referral qualifies later. Creating a free account alone does not qualify for a referral reward.
Who can refer friends?
All Markable users can refer friends and earn credit — both free and paid users, under the same rules.
What do I earn for a referral?
Every qualified referral earns you $20 credit (valid for 365 days from when the referral qualifies), with no limit. While you wait for your friend to qualify, your $20 is held as Pending Credit for up to 120 days from their signup — it activates automatically as soon as they qualify within that window, or expires if they don't qualify in time. Credits stack and are applied to your Markable subscription payments — whether it's a first paid subscription, an automatic renewal, or a plan change — earliest-expiring first, rolling over until used up. If you're on a free plan, you still earn credit; you'll use it the next time you pay for a subscription.
What does my friend get?
Your friend gets $20 credit towards their Markable subscription. They can sign up free first and use it when they upgrade — it's valid for 90 days from signup.
Where can I find my referral link?
On desktop: Click your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar, then select Refer a Friend from the menu. From there you can copy your unique referral link, share it, or send it by email.
On mobile: Go to Account Setting → Refer a Friend.
Important notes
The rewards above assume your friend is a new user. Credit is issued only for qualified referrals, and both your $20 and your friend's $20 depend on your friend being a new user. Someone who currently has a Markable account is not a new user — they won't receive the credit, and you won't earn a reward for them. (An existing user can still open your link and log in; they just won't receive referral credit.)
Special case — a deleted account: if your friend previously deleted a Markable account, it depends on how that earlier account signed up:
If the earlier account signed up through a valid referral link, they won't receive the credit, and you won't earn a reward for them.
If the earlier account did not sign up through a referral link, a fresh signup through your link can still count, as long as the referral meets all the usual qualifying conditions.
Credits can only be used towards Markable subscription payments — no cash value, can't be withdrawn or transferred.
Self-referrals and duplicate accounts aren't eligible. If multiple referral links are clicked, the most recent one before signup is used.
Markable may withhold or reclaim referral credit in cases of fraud, abuse, or reversed payments (such as refunds or chargebacks).
Credits expire if unused: your friend's $20 expires 90 days after signup; your $20 expires 365 days after your referral qualifies, or 120 days after your friend signs up if they don't qualify within that time. Markable may adjust amounts or rules over time.
