HOW CAN I CHANGE MY CAT'S PORTION?

Updated over a week ago

When you first join Marro, we craft a personalised meal plan for your cat based on the information you provide - including their age, weight, activity level, and body shape. From there, we recommend a portion tailored to support their health and wellbeing. Of course, no one knows your cat better than you. You’re the one who sees them every day (lucky you!) and notices the subtle changes that might mean it’s time to adjust their meal plan.

Maybe your cat’s started meowing the moment you step into the kitchen, or maybe they’ve begun leaving food behind after once finishing every bite. Just like people, cats’ appetites and routines can change over time, and it’s completely normal to need to adjust their portion accordingly.

If it feels like your cat could use a bit more, or a bit less, you can easily update their portion anytime in your account. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the ‘Next Box’ section under your cat’s profile

  2. Open the ‘Meal Plan’ dropdown to see their current portion

  3. Click ‘Edit’ to explore all available portion sizes, including the one we recommend

  4. Select the portion that fits your cat’s current needs, then click ‘Save’

And voilà. Just be sure to save your changes so the updated portion applies to your upcoming deliveries.

Not sure if it’s time to adjust your cat’s portion? Keep an eye out for signs like consistently leaving food uneaten for a couple of days, acting hungrier than usual between meals, or visible changes in their weight. These can all be cues that their needs have shifted and their meal plan might need to as well.
If you’re ever unsure what’s best, we’re always here to help, just send us an email or give us a call; we’ll have a chat about your cat's eating habits.

If you’ve manually adjusted your cat’s portion size, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on their weight. You can gently check their shape at home, keep an eye on how easily you can feel their ribs, or even weigh them regularly if they’re comfortable being on the scales.

Cats’ needs can shift but adjusting their meals doesn’t have to be complicated. With a quick update, you can ensure your cat is getting just the right amount, no more, no less, just right.
