Why can't we reach further?
Marro aims to deliver high-quality, chilled food products to as many areas as possible. However, certain technical and logistical challenges currently restrict their ability to expand to specific regions.
Challenges with Specific Delivery Zones
Marro's food products are designed to be delivered chilled to ensure freshness and quality. Currently, some areas, including the Isle of Wight, Shetland, and Isles of Scilly, fall outside of our delivery zones. The main reasons for these restrictions are:
Delivery Time Limitations: Marro collaborates with DPD for delivery services. Some remote locations are classified as "2-day delivery zones" by DPD. For chilled food products, this additional transit time may affect product freshness and quality.
Packaging Adjustments: Ensuring food remains chilled for an extended period requires specialised packaging. We're working on upgrading our packaging solutions to accommodate extended delivery times.
Focus on Purr-oduct Quality: We prioritise the safe and fresh arrival of meals over extending delivery zones prematurely. Delivering chilled products over long distances with current logistics operations could compromise this core commitment.
Areas Impacted by Delivery Limitations
Currently, delivery services are unavailable in these regions:
Isle of Wight
Shetland
Isles of Scilly
Areas around Aberdeenshire, North Ayrshire, Paisley, Inverness, Argyle and Bute.
Northern Ireland
These areas represent examples of zones where DPD's 2-day transit time and Marro's current packaging limitations restrict deliveries.
Plans for Future Expansion
Marro is actively working to address these logistics challenges and expand delivery options. Activities in progress include:
Collaboration with Couriers: Marro continues to work with DPD to explore ways of optimising delivery routes and improving efficiency.
Packaging Innovations: Upgrading packaging methods to ensure that chilled food can remain fresh and safe even over extended delivery timelines.
Updates and Notifications
