About

Even the most distinguished of kitties can encounter stool problems. It’s important to recognise the symptoms and assist them through these challenging times.

You can tell a lot about a cat’s health by having a glance at their toilet habits. Cats have mastered the art of bathroom privacy but if only they were as skilled at closing doors as they are at burying their business and kicking litter everywhere while doing so...

Diarrhoea can be easy to spot when you are cleaning out the tray, their stools are often watery or unusually loose in consistency and perhaps even accompanied by a foul odour. You might also notice an increased frequency of trips to the litter box.

Constipation might look like them straining in the litter box without producing faeces or anything that is passed is hard and dry. Their efforts may be accompanied by distressed meows.

Cats who are suffering from any stool issues may attempt to relieve themselves outside of their litter tray in various spots around the house. Remember, it's important not to scold them for these out-of-routine choices.

It’s also not uncommon for your cat to vomit while they are suffering from either of these as a result of the abdominal pain they are feeling.

How Marro can help?

Fear not, for Marro is here to lend a helping paw and help meow a farewell to the days of litter box drama and introduce a diet that will love them back and take care of those sensitive stomachs.

  • Due to the high level of digestibility in all Marro recipes, you will find that your cat may need to take less trips to the litter as they are using the food they eat for energy. This is fine dining after all, the food we serve is not bulked out with unnecessary additives, fillers or grains, you get what you see. Grain-free cat food offers several benefits, especially for cats with specific dietary needs or sensitivities. As carnivores, cats thrive on diets primarily consisting of meat and grain-free foods typically provide higher levels of animal-based proteins, closely mimicking their natural diet. This can reduce allergies and sensitivities, as many cats react negatively to grains such as corn, wheat, and soy, leading to fewer allergic reactions, skin irritations, and digestive issues.

  • Our silky golden gravy will help with your cat’s hydration, which is particularly important during times they may be suffering with an abdominal issue and potential fluid loss caused by diarrhoea and vomiting. Cats are often stubborn and won’t drink as much as they should but don’t worry, we got you covered.

  • All our recipes are single source proteins, which means it’s easy to avoid any meats that cause upset tummies. By carefully tailoring to your cat and what works for them, we create a loving match.

  • Each bite of our food contains prebiotics, promoting stool health, a healthy microbiome and aiding digestion.

Nothing says classy cat like a well-formed stool, free from the clutches of constipation or the difficulties of diarrhoea.

Our food is suitable for cats with diagnosed IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) but please check with your vet before switching your cat's diet in this case.

Still having problems?

Always seek further veterinary advice if stomach troubles continue as they may need a prescription diet. Note: if your cat hasn't passed a stool or had diarrhoea for more than 48hrs please call your vet.
