In a word, no.
Marro is Fresh, not raw, the human quality ingredients in Marro are gently steamed to kill off any nasties but retain all the nutritional value and goodness, there is more information on what makes Fresh so fresh here.
Raw cat food is exactly that, raw, no cooking involved and feeds uncooked meats, offal and bones to form a diet similar to what a cat may eat in the wild when hunting and is associated with certain health benefits (just like Marro too). There are plenty of benefits to feeding raw, however there is evidence to suggest that raw diets could potentially lead to illness in cats and humans alike.
A 2011 study(1) found that many commercial raw cat foods contained bacteria, like Salmonella, E.Coli and Listeria (amongst others), that could be harmful to the cats eating the food as well as their humans handling/preparing it.
Maude prefers her dinners to be gourmet and bacteria free, hence why we think Fresh is the best of both. All the benefits and goodness in a complete and balanced diet and nothing else, so that’s something to purr about.
