When a name change is allowed
You can update your name on your policy if:
You have changed your name due to marriage or divorce
You’ve legally changed your name via deed poll
Your name was misspelt or input incorrectly during sign-up
Documents you need
To process your request, we’ll ask for:
A valid photo ID (driving licence or passport)
A selfie for identity verification
One of the following, depending on the reason:
Marriage certificate (for name changes after marriage)
Decree absolute (for name changes after divorce)
Deed poll (for any other legal name changes)
When name changes are not allowed
We cannot update your name to that of a completely different person.
Examples where we cannot update the name:
Changing the policyholder from yourself to your partner or friend.
Requests without valid proof of legal name change.
