If Marshmallow needs to cancel your policy (e.g. due to unpaid documents or non-payment), a cancellation fee of up to £130 may apply.

Will I get a refund?

Yes — if you haven’t made a claim, your refund will be calculated pro-rata, based on the time left on your policy. The cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.

  • Refunds are processed to the card on file.

  • It can take 5–10 working days for the refund to appear in your account.

What if I pay monthly?

  • Your first payment is not a deposit — it covers your first month.

  • If you cancel mid-month, we’ll charge you only for the days you were covered, plus the cancellation fee.

  • If you’ve made a claim, you may still owe the full premium. We’ll get in touch if this applies to you.

What if I cancel before my policy starts?

If your policy hasn’t started yet (pre-inception), you’ll still be charged a £30 admin fee. Your refund will be issued after your original policy start date.
